Quick change of plans.....VERY quick

Our plan was to go to the Youth Convention tomorrow, but my kids rrrrreeeeeaaaaalllllly wanted to go tonight. So, I called Les and said, "O.K., this is very spur of the moment, but will you go with me to take the kids to Cleveland tonight?" This was about an hour ago. She said "yes". I'm picking her up in about 30 minutes.

Now, that's quick.

See ya......

Started out good....ended up not so good.....

Well, I didn't get back to the painting. Lynn and I had decided, before I made plans to paint mom's house, that we would take the girls and go to Opry Mills today. We wanted to take advantage of at least one day of Spring break and do something "fun". Since I had already made plans with Lynn, I hated to back out on her for something else. Daddy totally understood.

We headed out, Lynn, the girls and myself to do a little shopping around 11:30. Our first stop was Old Navy. I got a few things and Morgan got a few things. We were in search of the Gap Outlet. LaDonna had told me about having their jeans on sale for Morgan. So, we wanted to check it out. Unfortunately, they didn't work out. She tried them on but it was a no. Too bad, you can't beat $11.99 for Gap jeans. Anyway, we did end up finding her some at Charlotte Russe. She's very hard to fit cause she's so stinkin skinny. Oh, I almost forgot, before we went to get her jeans we ate at Subway, the one in the mall for lunch. Ya gotta love Subway. After giving my approval of her jeans, she and Katie headed off to do their own thing.

Lynn and I headed for the "mom's store"...Kirklands. I just love that store. I could spend a fortune in there, if I had a fortune to spend. After checking things out but not purchasing anything we then went to Off Broadway. I was in search of a new pair of black sandals for the summer. I knew exactly what I had in mind. A little dressy to wear to church but definitely comfy. I wanted Clarks. Les turned me on to Clarks several years ago when we were on vacation together. I almost couldn't spend $50.00 on a pair of shoes but she convinced me if I ever would just bite the bullet, I would never regret it. She was exactly right. They are worth every penny and they last forever. She just recently bought herself a really cute pair for the same reason that I wanted them. A little dressier for church. After looking at a few different ones, my eye fell on the exact same ones Les had gotten. I knew she wouldn't care if I got the same ones but just to be sure, I text her and ask. And, of course, she didn't care at all. We really have the same taste in clothes and already have several things a like anyway. When we shop together, we usually end up getting the same exact stuff. So, this summer, we will be sporting the same black Clark sandals.

We headed to the guys soccer game from shopping, after making a quick trip to Sonic.

The game was very good, although they lost 3 to 2. It was very exciting. Our guys, Chandler, Brandon and Justin all played very well.

After the game, and after the kids talk and talk and talk with their friends, we finally head home. We are about half way home when Morgan says to me "Mom, do you have my sunglasses?" She had purchased a new pair of shades today while we were shopping and they looked very cute on her. But, "no, I don't have them Morgan". "Oh no, I left them at the soccer field along with my DIGITAL CAMERA, and a soccer chair. Now, the chair and even the glasses....no big deal, right? BUT the camera....A VERY BIG DEAL. It was her Christmas present and she barely goes anywhere without it. So, I turned around (not too happy, I might add....not that she forgot her stuff, that was an accident and I could have done the same thing) but, because I was ready to be home and did not want to go all the way back. It's about a 45 minute or an hour drive one way. But, I did. We pulled up, I shined the bright lights on the area where she had left them and......GONE. Nothing was there. Not the chair, not the new sunglasses and not the camera. We were sick. As you can imagine, Morgan was double sick, so sick in fact, that she cried. I don't blame her. She was crushed.

So, unless someone picked it up for us, which I doubt because we were one of the last two families from the soccer team to leave. Someone out there has Morgan's camera. If someone did steal it, God help them. Unfortunatley, there are people in this world that would view finding that camera as "lucky me". I even drove around the park hoping there would be some place that someone could have turned it in, but no such luck.

Oh well, things happen that you just can't do anything about. I was thinking on the way home after trying to find Morgan's stuff about a song that I really like. Some of the words say.....God is great, but sometimes life ain't good. When I pray, it doesn't always turn out like I think it should, but I do it anyway.

I said a prayer as we were heading back to hopefully find her stuff. It could have been there, sure, but it wasn't. God doesn't have to do things the way we want them every time. He's God and He's good ALL the time. Thing's just happen.

Good night friends....

***blessing - spending time with friends today.

Painting

This morning as I sat down to have my morning devotion, I had a question for my dad. I called him, asked him the question, he answered it and we just started talking. He's in the process of remodeling their house. He's re-doing both of their bathrooms and momma is ready to change her living room. He asked me..."what are you gonna do today?" I didn't really have a whole lot on my plate so he asked if I wanted to come help him paint. The living room, dining room and hallway all need to be painted. I said, "sure". So, after I went and ran 3 miles, I headed over to my mom & dad's house.

I guess I really didn't realize how much trim is in those 3 areas until I started putting that blue painters tape down to protect the trim from getting paint on it. Man, that alone took me about 1 1/2 hours. After that, I had to sand down some areas that dad had put dry wall on. Then I started cutting out the trim. That's a job. Again, I didn't realize how big of a space that was until my hands literally started hurting to the point I could barely move them from holding that trim brush and brushing, brushing, brushing...are yall getting the point?

At one point daddy needed to take some trash to the dump. He was in the front yard and I thought to myself.....a diet strawberry limeade from Sonic sounds really good. So, I opened the front door....HUGE mistake. If Lady (mom & dad's dog) sees an opportunity to get out the front door......she's gone. I'm serious, she shoots out like a rocket. The fastest thing you have ever seen on 4 legs and doesn't even look back. She totally forgets her name when she sees the wide open space. The only way, and I'm serious, the ONLY way to get her is to get in the car and go after her.

My dad went ahead and went to the dump. I continued to paint. Lady continued to run through the neighborhood like she owned it. About 20 minutes later daddy walks in the door with 2 Sonic cups. His strawberry shake and my diet cherry limeade. What? Not cherry, strawberry. Oh man, he got the wrong kind. And I must say, cherry is not my favorite at all. I don't even like cherries. But, what's one to do. So, I drank it anyway. It was O.K., just not my strawberry limeade.

Daddy gets in the truck and goes after Lady. Sure enough, a few minutes later, in come daddy and Lady. I tell you, that dog was smiling (just kidding)! HA!

I stopped with the painting around 5:00 casue I had to get home, get showered, eat something and head to church.

I stopped on the way home and picked up a Little Ceasers pizza. They have hot, ready to pick up pepperoni or cheese pizza's for $5.00, any day. That's what I call a deal.

I hope to get to go back in the morning and help finish up with the painting. It's gonna look really good. We are painting it hot chocolate brown. VERY nice, warm and cozy.

Until next time.....

***blessing - being able to help with my mom's house.

Spring break

This week is our Spring break. We were only gonna take a couple of days but I got to thinking. We deserve a full week, Spring break, just like public kids get, right? The kids do not have their tutorial classes this week. Morgan doesn't have Spanish, so it would actually be a real break. No books at all! WooHoo!

Yesterday was a normal day (without books). I ran 3 miles. Just regular old stuff. Today, Rachel (Chandler's girlfriend) is coming over. She's gonna hang out until time for their soccer game. Did I mention, she plays on Chandler's soccer team? I'm gonna meet her mom at Opry Mills for her to hook up with us. They are a very nice family.

We had a very nice time on Easter. Getting together with the family was great. The only one that didn't make it was Steve's sister. She was sick....bummer! Rex (Rachel's husband) made this desert. OH MY WORD.....it was one of the best things I have ever put in my mouth. Seriously, have you ever had Carrot Cake from Hickory Falls? Well, it was just like that except it was made with apples. It had nuts in it, which I love any desert with nuts and it had cream cheese icing, another favorite of mine. I ate two pieces. It would not do for that to be at my house often. Shew, it was good, right Les?

Well, I hope everyone has a blessed day.

***blessing - I am completely free of ulcers in my mouth. For 3 straight weeks, I had 3 different ulcers. I don't have any pain any more. Thank the Lord!

Happy Easter.....Thank you Jesus!!!!!!!

So, it's 1:23 and my family will be arriving around 3:00 for our feast. I'm really excited that they will all be at my house. We will be having:

Honey Baked Ham (with the glaze...yum yum)
rolls
green beans
potato salad (my Nanny is famous for hers)
mac and cheese
summertime salad
3 different deserts: pineapple up side down cake, green apple cobbler, and something my mother-n-law is bringing, but not sure what it is.

I'm thankful for the sunshine today. When I woke up it was really looking like rain. I wanted it to be a nice day for us. It's easier to get Bradley in and out when it's not raining. So, I said a little prayer this morning..."Lord, please don't let it rain, please give us some sunshine". It's so like the Lord...and I thank Him for it.

We had several visitors this morning at church. A full house. I'm thankful for this.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter. I hope you get to spend some time with your family. Family is so important!

Love to you all

***blessing - the sunshine today and no rain.

Just call me "the cleaning machine"

I have been cleaning my house all day. I've been on my hands and knees scrubbing the floors. I had a thought actually when I was down doing that. Here's my thought...."to get it done right, it takes getting on your hands and knees"....get it?

Anyway, Rachel called me and asked if I would take Bradley to get his hair cut. So, I did. I called my mom to go with me. Even though I was in the groove of really cleaning, I stopped, just for Brad. After we got his hair cut, I took him back home and stopped by Big Lots. I got some greenery for an arrangement and a picture for my guest bathroom. So, now it's back to cleaning. Remember, my whole family and Steve's family are coming over tomorrow after church for Easter dinner. I'm so excited!

Here's something cool. Thursday, the T.V. in our family room just went out. It stopped working out of know where. I guess something just blew. Anyway, Steve called his sister that night for something and said to her..."What'cha doin"? She said, "watching Tim (her husband) set up their new T.V." Steve said..."that's funny, ours just went out today". Denise (Steve's sister) then said..."do you guys want to use the one we had, there is nothing wrong with it, Tim just wanted a new one"...(a guy thing, I guess...HA) So, until we get ourselves a new one, which we really didn't need to spend the money on right now, we are going to use Denise and Tim's old one. It's a great flat screen T.V. So how bout that for coolness?!. Steve is going to get it on his way home tonight.

I guess I've spent enough time here for now. Something needing to be cleaned is calling.

***blessing - The honor of helping to care for Bradley!!!!

It has been a very "Good Friday"

First and foremost....it's a good Friday because I remember what Jesus did for me so many years ago. He gave His life. He died so I could live. My goal each and every day is to live my life in such a way that I don't crucify Him again. I love the Lord with all my heart and soul and want to please Him in every way. I want to please Jesus with every choice I make. He has done so much for me and there is no way I could ever repay Him. All I can do is give my life back to Him. To surrender my will, to His will. I can honestly say from the bottom of my heart that there is nothing in this life that I want more than to make it to Heaven. I pray that God will continue to keep this the desire of my heart. Thank you Jesus for giving your life for me. You didn't have to, but you did. I have a choice in this life every day also. I don't have to serve the Lord, but I choose too.... I want too....not just lip service but HEART service. I praise you Jesus and I do remember that because of you...this is a Good Friday!!!!

What a beautiful day it has been. Steve has to work tomorrow. He works every other Saturday. The Saturday's that he does work, he gets a day off in that week. He's off today. We went and ran this morning. When we came home my sweet husband washed my nasty car. It's not nasty any more. I went to visit Bradley for a while today. He's doing good, so you guys PLEASE keep praying. We are still waiting on the COMPLETE miracle. I serve a God of miracles!!!!!

I went to Walmart for a few things and then to Kroger for alot of things. The kids are having a band service at Kim's tonight. She invited the parents also because she wanted us to observe Lord's Supper and Feet Washing together as a family. Daddy will be there to serve us. Then after that we are having a cookout. I will be eating my first grilled hamburger of the season. Man, I love grilled burgers in the spring and summer time.

Well, it 's 5:30 and we are suppose to be at Kim's at 6:00, so I better get goin.

Love to all

***blessing - Jesus died on the cross for me so I could live a life free from sin. Praise His Holy name!!!!!

I'm hungry

I'm waiting on the chicken to bake. I put Ms. Dash, garlic powder, salt & pepper and crushed red pepper on it. When it's done, I'm gonna chop it up so we can make chicken and cheese quesadilla's. Mmmmmm....mmmmm... good! Oh yeah, and I've got green chilli's to put on them also.

Last night at church we had a "round table" discussion. It was VLB night and our youth activity leaders did this once before. It was a hit and so they decided to do it again. Any of the youth, or any one for that matter, can write down a question to be answered by a panel. The panel consist of wisdom filled ministers. Last night the panel was my dad, Bro. Hall and Sis. Peggy. Anyone can write down a question that they might have about the Bible or The Church. It really is cool. It opens up for a lot of discussion which is really good for our young people. They need to be able to give an answer for the hope that lies within them. They need to know why they believe what they believe. Of course, this comes from divine revelation but these discussions help to clarify things for them. I really enjoyed it.

Today has been a nice day. I went for the first time in a while to clean my mom's house. Shew......did it need it (sorry, momma...ha!) In her defense, the weekend is really the only time she has to clean and last weekend was a complete blur for her. We had the mission yard sale and then she had to prepare for a wedding that she was asked to help direct. She was home long enough the entire weekend to sleep. So, it's understandable that you couldn't walk through her house....just kidding..HA!..it wasn't that bad. But now, she can come home to a nice clean house and relax, hopefully. love ya momma!

Man that chicken that's cooking right now smells soooooo good. I think my mouth is actually watering.

***blessing - a good week! Life and serving the Lord is not about "feelings", it's about faith. BUT....when we "feel" good, it's really great!!!

C ya!

and the winner is.....

Last night at the Fox Den we had an arm wrestling match. Chandler is forever wanting to arm wrestle Steve. He's at that age, I guess, where he thinks "one of these days", I'll be able to beat dad. And that will be the very same day that Steve really feels his age. HA! Anyway, of course, Steve won. That lead to Cha wanting to arm wrestle me. O.K., so he talked me into it. Of course, there is NO way I could ever beat him but I did give it my all (sorta). This lead to "little miss thang" (Morgan) wanting in on some action. Let me just say....this 86 pound, nothing but skin and bones is actually pretty strong. She can hold me for a good while. It's not just a breeze for me to beat her. Anyway, this lasted long enough for everybody to arm wrestle everybody except for Steve and me. I should have taken pics....it would have been rather amusing. When Chandler arm wrestles Steve, he sooooo gets into it. He's like one of those guys on T.V. arm wrestling that get loud and distort their faces and such. Morgan asked him last night..."why do you do that? None of your friends make all those noises and sounds"....she's so funny!

Today, not too much going on except school and the norm around the house. I'm gonna try and go run. Morgan went to her Mimi's today so it's just Chandler and me here.

In other news....let me get yall's advice. Remember I shared I got a speeding ticket. Well, I have to do the traffic school. They now have the option of doing it online. So, you can either go somewhere and get it over with which takes about 4 hours (yuck) or you can do it online which might take a little longer, maybe! They said the online course is suppose to take 8 hours (double yuck) but you could possibly get in done in 4. What would yall do? Online or go somewhere???

***blessing - family devotion. As crazy as life is and as busy as life is, we try as a family to come together each night and have family devotion together. No computers, or cell phones, or dishes or other stuff. Our family devotion consists of Morgan or me reading from the a Bible. Then, we each share something that we are thankful for from the day. Then, we pray together as a family. We then end with "Bless the Lord, Oh my soul, and all that's within me, bless His Holy name."

I've decided

to invite my family over to my house for Easter dinner. Steve got a gift certificate from his boss at Christmas to the Honey Baked Ham Store. What a perfect time to use it, huh? I think Steve is gonna invite his family also. I hope the weather is nice. Easter means Spring time...YAH! I love Spring. The perfect weather for me is about 75 degrees with no humidity in the air...you just can't beat it.

Hmmmmm, not to much else to say right now......

***blessing - a family that really enjoys being together. (most of the time...hehe)

So Thankful

I am so thankful for my friends. I am blessed with many of them that are REAL friends.

I love my friends!

So far.......So good

The day is not over yet but so far it's been a good one. Daddy preached a great message this morning. It really ministered to me. "WATCH THEREFORE, AND PRAY ALWAYS", is exactly what I'm trying to do. There is so much to try and "distract" us from what is really the most important thing in life....making it to Heaven. This life is NOT what it's all about. Eternity....that's what it's all about. I MUST set my affection on things above, NOT on things on this earth. It was a such a good message.

Brad came to church this morning and then we headed to Taco Bell. Guess who else came back to church today? Rachel....Chandler's Rachel. She's such a cutie patootie! She's so quiet though. Nothing wrong with that at all....just very quite. She and Chandler, from what I can tell....there personalities are not alike. He's so not quiet. He can be, but he has a much more out going personality. They say opposites attract, right? Look at Steve and me.....NOTHING alike AT ALL. I'm really quiet and he never stops talking........YEAH RIGHT....he's the quiet one and I'm the out going one. But I must say, we make the perfect match. We balance each other out. It's cool how that works.

We have a young couple at church that are getting married today at 4:00. Pray for God's will in their lives as they begin this new chapter together. Their names are Michelle and Brad. They are a precious couple. He won her to the Lord and the church.

Well, gotta leave soon to get back to the church. Until next time....

Telling off on myself

Last month, on Valentine's Day as a matter of fact, I got a speeding ticket. In defense of myself...hehe.....I was going through a school zone, not when the school kids were present, they were already in school but on this certain road between 8am and 9am the speed limit is 20. I wasn't paying attention to that and he got me. Man, don't you hate that feeling? As soon as you see him (him, being the policeman) you get that sick feeling and say to yourself or even out loud "Aw Man"! Anyway, he gave me a ticket, which I guess I did deserve but it would have been nice for him to tell me "mam, you need to slow down" but instead he wrote me a ticket.

He said "if you will show up to traffic court on March 15 at 7:00am, this will not go on your record".

Today is March 15, right? So, Steve and I get up way to early. My alarm was set for 5:50...yes A.M. We hurry out the door and get there to a building with no lights on and not a person in sight. As we drove up to the place, the front door said 8:00-4:00. Now, wait a minute. My ticket said to be there at 7:00am. Steve told me to call the number on the ticket and find out what was going on. I called the number to get an automated voice that says, normal business hours are Mon-Fri/8-4. What? Today is Saturday and my ticket clearly says March, 15 at 7:00am.......or does it? On the automated voice thingy, they give another number to call. So, I did. I explained my situation to an actual person and she tells me that they sometimes do have Saturday traffic court. She asks me to hold on one minute............when she comes back she says that it's 9:00am. (not 7:00am)

Steve and I look again, and again, and again...could it say 9:00? I was sure that it was a 7:00. Possibly, maybe....it's up for question?

Anyway, what are we to do for 2 hours? Well, I'm back home posting about it so that should tell you what we did? My, my, my.......

So, in about 30 minutes we will head back to traffic school. Fun, fun, fun.....

blessing - We went out to eat with Bradley last night and he CONSISTANTLEY drank from the straw. This is major progress....Thank the Lord!!!!!

It may be

a rainy day but the "SON" (get it) is shining in my life. Kinda corny, I know, but so true! God is so good and I praise Him and love Him!!!

Steve has been off work for the past two days. Yesterday he got up at 6:30 to start doing some yard work. He worked all day long and was very tired and sore by last night. But I must say, our yard looks very nice. He takes pride (in a good way) in having our yard look nice. I'm glad.

I drove the kiddos to soccer practice yesterday which takes about 45 minutes cause they practice in Galatin. Man, what commitment. HA! Lynn had driven 4 kids and I had 4 kids. When we got there I hopped in her car and off we went in search of a Sonic. How can there be 3 Sonics in the small town of Smyrna and not one in site in Galatin? We were determined though to find and get our diet Strawberry Limeade. So, we headed toward Hendersonville. YAH! We found one. Our search was over and our craving was satisfied.

This morning, as every Friday morning, I take Chandler and Morgan over to Lynn's so they can ride with her to tutorial. From there my plan was to go run. My husband was still in bed but I asked if he wanted to go run with me. Yep, he got right up and off we went. I told him I wanted to spend my day with him. When we were dating, we couldn't spend enough time together. You know how you want to be together 24/7?! Now, almost 19 years of marriage later, I'm glad I still want to spend time with him. I love my husband very much! He is the best!!!

The kids are suppose to have a soccer game this afternoon. But, we are not sure if they will or not due to the rain. Right now, the website says "pending". I'll be kinda bummed if they don't play cause this is a game Steve would get to go to since he's off work.

I've gotta go do some stuff. So, later!

PRAISE THE LORD

In my earlier post, I said that I was expecting to get some good news today about something I had been praying about. Well, just like I thought...I got the good news and I praise the Lord for it....right Tim and Ondra?

God is so good!!

I'm expecting

a GREAT day! The weather is beautiful and my husband is off work. I'm also expecting to get some good new about something I've been praying about.

I have several things I need to get done today. I need to......go to the grocery store, pay bills, do school, do some things in the house which also means laundry. I really need to, which I don't know if this will get done or not but I NEED to take my car through marta.(sp?). My tags expire at the end of the month and I usually wait until the last day and have to sit in an hour long line. Anybody else do that?

I may have to take the kids to soccer practice this afternoon. If not, then I will be going to the church to help momma set up for the March Mission yard sale. Anybody that can....come by the Antioch church Friday or Saturday and check things out. I'm sure there will be some good stuff and besides that you'll be helping Missions. Which reminds me, that's something else I need to do today....get my stuff together for the sale....Man...busy, busy day!

Oh let me just say, Vicky preached an awesome message last night in our WMB service. I tell you what....with all that's in me....I want to be ready for Heaven. There is so much deception in the world and so much "junk" flying around that it makes me so thankful for what I know and believe and with ALL my heart I'm trying to live each day!!! THANK GOD FOR THE TRUTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, there's much on my plate for today so I better get off here.....go have my morning devotion so that I can get started.

have a good one....no wait....have a GREAT one!!!

Is Spring on it's way?

Man, I sure hope so. It's so beautiful outside and I think it's suppose to get into the high 60's today. Tomorrow, they are calling for the 70's. Now, that's my kind of weather, how bout you? Almost time to pull out the flip-flops. WhooooHooooo!!!

I slept in today. Just couldn't make myself get up. The dog wanted out at about 7:00, but I climbed right back in bed and stayed until 9:15. That's nice but I don't have as much time in the day to get done what I need to get done. Oh well, the rest was nice.

Last night we went to my brothers house to celebrate my nephew's (Dylan) birthday. He's turning 12 today. Man, these kids are growing up fast. Cha will be 16 in May. I just CANNOT believe that.

Steve has the next two days off. I'm so glad for him. He works very hard and when he has some time off, well, it's just nice. Especially with the nice weather. He's gonna take advantage of it and do some yard work.

I'm gonna see if I can go get Brad for church tonight. He has therapy this afternoon and I'm not sure what time he will be finished but hopefully he will be able to go.

Not too much going on. I need to get these kids started with school. I hope everyone enjoys this gorgeous weather. It just puts a smile on your face!

***blessing - good kids!

Sunday and Monday

Yesterday (Sun) began VERY early. My alarm went off at 5:30am, which actually it was 4:30am because of the time change. Mom and Dad were here to pick us up about 6:45 to head to Mickey, TN which is about a 3 hour drive. We had service with them. It was very nice. Steve taught Sunday School. Dad preached. Mom lead song service. I testified and Morgan sang. There was a wonderful spirit there. It never fails....when you go to minister and be a blessing, you always leave more blessed by them. After service several of us went out to lunch at the Catfish Hotel. You could tell they loved having the fellowship.

When we got back into town, we didn't have time to even go home. We went straight to our church. Sis. Wendy, the State WMB coordinator did her boost at Antioch. By the time church was over, I was feeling that 4:30/5:30am. I was soooooooo tired. Shew, long day but very good day.

Chandler didn't go with us to Mickey. He stayed and went to Antioch. He and Micah Peter had decided to have a pizza eating contest after church before Micah and Megan left to go back to Alaska. Several of the young guys from church decided to get in on this pizza eating contest. The winner ended up being Micah eating 32 slices of pizza....yep.....32. How in the world a human body can hold that much pizza is behond me. Chandler ate 18 slices. I can't even imagine that.

Today has been a good day too. My ulcer is starting to slowly get better. It has hurt today but I sorta am feeling a little bit of relief. Thank the Lord!

Chandler had his first soccer game today. Justin and Brandon (from church) also are playing on this same team. I'm glad the Shaw family will be joining us. It's gonna be a fun time together. Although they lost their first game...oh well....we've got more. There next game is on Friday. This is Brandon's first time to ever play soccer and I must say, he did very well. Good job guys!

Today

Well, I've cleaned, all day. And, I've done laundry. And, I've been in major pain. Surely this ulcer will have to clear up soon. My husband told me to get some sore throat drops since the ulcer is on my throat. So, I made a quick trip to dollar general today, the only time I left the house, actually. They did not have drops but they did have the spray stuff for sore throats. It helps slightly for about 1 minute, then back to major pain. When I eat.....ahhhhh man, it's all I can stand. Les wanted us to go eat at Hickory Falls tonight with her and Rick. I really wanted to go but finally decided that it wouldn't be enjoyable at all. Being with them would, but eating the food just hurts way to much. So, we had to pass.

Rick and Les are our "buds". Although we are family, we are best friends too. Rick and I have always been really, really close. And so, when Les came into the picture, she and I became bestest buds as well. I love them bunches!!

Tomorrow daddy has to go to the Mickey church for a district overseer visit. He asked if we would go with him and help minister. Steve is gonna teach Sunday School and Morgan and I will sing. Should be a great time, I'm sure.

Blessing - The most understanding, selfless husband in the world!!!!!!!!!

Any suggestions?

I've been having issues lately with ulcers in my mouth. Remember last week, I had one on my tongue? Well, it's better...but this week I have one on my throat/tonsil. It's the size of my pinky fingernail.....seriously....HUGE and soooooooo painful.

What causes them? Is it a virus? And what can I do for the pain?

Any suggestions? I'm miserable!!!

It's been a couple

of days that is, since I last posted. I just really haven't had to much to say, I guess. WHAT? ME... not to much to say. Well, it can happen, ya know? HA!

Let's see if I can think back....well...rather than think back....let's think forward. It's suppose to snow big time. Do yall really think it will? Let me know, seriously, comment and let me know and let's see who gets it right. I'm gonna say "yes". (wishful thinking)

Tonight Cha and Morgan are suppose to be going to Tyler and Brandon's birthday party. Steve is going to a Belmont basketball game. And I'm...well...not sure yet. It all depends on the weather. If it holds out, I will probably go to the church for prayer. Then, stop by to hang with Bradley for a while until the kids are ready to come home. If it starts snowing before all of this...I'll be home with my fireplace blazing in my P.J.'s.

Can yall believe it's the weekend again? Seriously, it feels like just a minute ago I was posting about Rachel (Chandler's girlfriend) going to church with us. Man, this week flew.

I guess it's time for my blessing:

Wednesday we had a family meeting with Bradley's therapist's. It went well. They are very pleased with his progress and can see improvements. Thank the Lord!

Clean up, clean up......

everybody, everywhere.........remember that song? It's usually a song kids sing or we get them to sing it as they pick up their toys and stuff. I think I remember it from back in the day when my kiddos were little and they learned it off Barney (the big purple dino)....anyway.....

I got a call this morning from a friend from way back when. She had never been to my house before and was to arrive to bring me something between 10 and 10:30. It was probably around 9:30 when she called. Now, you know girls, most of us anyway, want our homes to be in the best shape possible when we are having company, especially if they have never been to our home before. So, as soon as I hung up with her I tore into this house like a bandit. "Chandler, please take your stuff up to your room"...."Morgan, will you please wipe down the bathrooms with the clorox wipes?" I began picking up, wiping up, vaccuming up everything I had the time to get too. I grab the windex and got the fingerprints off the glass end tables and the spots from the bathroom mirror. In the midst of this frantic, hurry up, as fast as I can cleaning marathon.... a thought came to me. A spiritual thought.....

How is my house? My spiritual house? My vessel? "ME" ....... If the Lord were to call me home today or come back to earth today....how would my home (spiritually) look to Him? Is there any last minute cleaning that needs to be done? Is it exactly the way it needs to be in order for Him to be pleased with what He sees? Are there any spots that need to be wiped away?

In the midst of my cleaning frinzzy....I asked Chandler to clean his room. He asked, "is she going to go upstairs?" I said..."I don't know" He said, "well, I'll just close my door" hmmmmm.....what a thought....spiritually that is.....

We can't just close the door so that the junk is not seen. Actually, we can do that so that others don't see but the Lord can see even behind the closed door. We can't just sweep it under the bed or put it in the closet. HE IS under the bed and in the closet.

I just thought this was a great analogy. The Bible says that Jesus will come as a thief in the night. No one is ever expecting "when" the thief may come.

How CLEAN is our house? When the Lord calls, there will be no time to do last minute touch ups. He is giving us the time right now!! Let's make sure that every second of every day, every area of our home, our spiritual home is spotless.

Praise the Lord....He has made a way....through His Precious Blood that we can be clean and ready at all times.

Have a great day!

Thank you Lord...

for a good day!

As I mentioned yesterday, Chandler's girlfriend, Rachel went to church with us today. She hung out all day and even went back tonight. I'm glad for this. Really glad! She's a very sweet girl and so pretty too. She and Chandler look cute together. What an exciting time in his life. I'm getting older but not too old that I've forgotten what a fun time this is. It 's weird that he is as old as he is. New things are happening, fun, new things.

We went to KFC for lunch after service this morning. Tonight we hit Krystal. I don't eat Krystal much, but when I do, I can put some away. I had 4 tonight, with fries. When your in the mood, nothing hits the spot like a Krystal cheeseburger.

Don't have too much to say, so I'll leave you with a pic of Chandler & Rachel and one of Morgan and Rachel from today.

Great Day....except...

I have a really bad ulcer/fever blister thingy on my tongue and it hurts, man, it hurts. It hurts to talk. It hurts to eat. It just hurts. I'm sorta prone to getting ulcers in my mouth but this is the first one is ages. I've rinsed with warm salt water and with mouthwash. This is the 3rd day for it to be really bad so hopefully tomorrow will be better. Shew!

Other than a painful mouth, today has been a great day. It goes as follows: I got up around, um, I think it was like 8:15am or so. I had my coffee and peanut butter toast, which is my morning menu, every morning. Sometimes, I might throw in some maple and brown sugar oatmeal but just sometimes. Speaking of oatmeal, some of you may remember, back 6 months or so ago that I asked for prayer about Steve's cholesterol. How when he went for a physical, it was up some what (not horrible, just up). Well, given his family history, especially his dad, having his first heart attack at age 42 (Steve is 41) we really need to keep an eye on it. The Dr. wanted him to go on medicine for it, and although we are in no way against that, we wanted to see if we could get it lowered by using vitamins and herbs first and by eating oatmeal each day. So, that's what he's done for the past 6 months. He went back this past Thursday for a re-check. They took his blood again and we are waiting for the results. Please help us pray for lower numbers. Prayer and doing our part, we are expecting his numbers to be lower. I'll keep you guys posted.

I went through Chick fil A for lunch today. I just love their chicken sandwich, it's my favorite. Steve and Cha played golf. How could they not with the beautiful weather.

I went and hung out with Bradley for about an hour today. Man, I wish that boy would get up from there. April the 2nd, one month from tomorrow it will be 2 years since the day of his accident. Can you believe that? 2 years! Although he has made great progress, if you would have asked me one year ago, if I thought we would be here, at this stage, now, a year later, my answer would have been no. One year ago, I really thought he would be whole by now but I feel like it's that way of thinking (expecting it today thinking )for my family that keeps us going. Trusting in the Lord. Waiting on the Lord is our Hope. I guess what I'm trying to say is I thought it would be over by now. That he would be "Bradley" again by now. But, for some reason, that only God knows, we are still on this journey. Really though, knowing God knows and He is in control, the outcome is gonna be even better than we imagine. I just wish it would hurry! What is that saying...."good things come to those who wait"....well, then, this will certainly be GREAT!!

Momma, Deb, Morgan, Tristan and I went shopping today. We went to Home Goods/TJ Maxx. It's a great store. Then, just because Christopher and Banks was in the area, I ran in really quickly to see what I could see. And wouldn't you know it...I found a denim skirt on sale for $9.97. It was originally $35.50 You cannot have too many denim skirts.

So now, my husband just asked if I wanted to go to Walmart with him.....WHAT? Did I hear correctly?????????? He wants to get some kind of fertilizer for the yard. I need to find a bed skirt for Morgan's bed anyway. Her comforter didn't come with one.

Guess what? Chandler's girlfriend, Rachel, is coming to church with us tomorrow. How cool is that?! I think he's really excited.

Well, I'm off for now....
love to all....
