GO ROYALS!!!

So, last night Chandler's soccer team played for the championship. He was so nervous and excited about it. We all were.

In all my years of going to soccer games and watching my kids play, I have never been to a more exciting, intense game. The first half, 40 minutes.....no score. Very intense. The second half, 40 minutes.....no score. They all played SO hard. They gave it their all. Both teams did. Chandler played so hard, and had not had enough water that both of his calves cramped up and he had to sit out for a minute or two and stretch.

So, the game is over and still no score. We go into a 20 minute overtime. Still no score. We go into two 5 minute sudden death overtime periods and STILL no score.

By this time, we were all on or feet. Even my mom and dad. My mom has no clue about soccer except when you make a goal but she is screaming her head off. So funny! I can not tell you how intense this game was. It was neck and neck. We were all just ready to run onto the field and play with them.

Now, they pick 5 players from each team for penalty kicks. Each player of the 5 gets a chance at goal. Whoever gets the most points, of course, wins. This is when it is so hard for the goalies. It's hard to stop a ball coming right at you.

Chandler was first. HE SCORED!!!!!! Our first goal. The other team shoots and misses! YES! Our next player goes and misses. Oh man! Their player goes and misses. Pattrick (our team) scores and he breaks the school record for most goals in his high school carrerr....Go Patrick! Their team misses and then Justin shoots and scores.

WE WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was SO exciting! It was SO fun! The excitement when we won was just unbelievable. I was so proud of our team and of my baby boy.

Then the trophies were presented and we of course, got the championship trophy. And, they announced the players that made the all tournament team. Chandler was selected. He definitely got his dad's athletic abilities. Makes a momma proud!!!

Go Royals!
